Cambridge Fine Wine Tastings

This unique and popular wine tasting service was set up by Jerry Brown in 1989.

Jerry says:

"Our aim is to give groups of people the opportunity to taste wines they would not have the chance to normally taste.
Our tastings are for entertainment, enjoyment and learning about wines.
We do not sell the wines - so there is no pressure to buy."

How does it work?
Typically 20 people will take part though we have catered for up to 200.
There are normally 6 to 8 wines to be tasted, perhaps contrasting New World versus Old.
A jovial yet educational evening is rounded off with a computer analysis of your tasting marks. These are compared with your fellow tasters and the average score nearest to Jerry’s is the winner of a bottle of fine wine!

What does it cost?
We can price the tasting to suit your pocket, but the usual price for a truly great evening’s entertainment is around £10 per head – more for even finer wines. Of course if you charge more you can either choose finer wines - or raise more for charity funds.

Who have you worked with?
Many charities use Cambridge Fine Wine Tastings to raise funds; businesses have entertained their staff at conferences and seminars; a Fine Wine Tasting is a great favourite of P.T.A’s. Jerry hosts an annual Fine Wine Gourmet Lunch at Quy Mill Hotel, Cambridge.

Cambridge Food & Drink Society, St Faith’s School Cambridge, Sancton Wood School Cambridge, Sawston Village College, Great and Little Shelford Primary School, Domino,
Cambridge Academy of Transport employ us on a regular basis for entertainment for their shipping courses.
We have held tastings at most Cambridge Colleges including Kings, Downing, Queens, Selwyn, Churchill, St Johns, Jesus, Trinity, Gonville & Caius, St Catherines, Corpus Christi, Christs and Homerton.
